Guwahati: A horrific incident has come to light from Hailakandi district in Assam. The body of a 15-year-old girl was found in her home under suspicious circumstances. Family members allege that the girl was first raped and then brutally murdered. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. However, officials say that confirmation of sexual assault will only be possible after the post-mortem report is received.
The family members who returned from the feast were faced with a painful scene.
The incident occurred late Saturday night in the Aloichara area of the Katlichera police station area. According to reports, the teenager had gone to a relative’s house with her family for a party. After an argument, she returned home alone.
When the family returned late at night, they found the teenager’s body lying on the floor. Family members say the body was in a very bad condition, with severe injuries to her face. The incident sparked grief and outrage throughout the area.
Family members made serious allegations
The deceased’s family alleges that the teenager was sexually assaulted before being murdered. Police stated that these allegations can only be confirmed after a medical examination and post-mortem report. The investigation is currently being conducted with all aspects in mind.
Police intensified action after protests
Angered by the incident, locals protested on National Highway 6, demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits. Police arrived at the scene to calm the situation and expedite the investigation.
Senior Superintendent of Police Amitabh Sinha said that an FIR has been registered in the case. Five suspects have been detained and are being interrogated. The forensic team has also collected vital evidence from the scene.

Police say that only after the post-mortem report is received will a clear picture of the cause of death and the allegations of sexual assault be established. Officials have assured that the case will be investigated impartially and that strict action will be taken against those found guilty, in accordance with the law.
