After first defeating Delhi Capitals, now Chennai has strengthened its comeback by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by 32 runs.
In the match, Chennai Super Kings batted first and scored a strong score of 192 runs in 20 overs. Kolkata Knight Riders team, which came to chase the target, could score only 160 runs and could not even play the full 20 overs.
The biggest contribution to Chennai’s victory was from bowler Noor Ahmed, who completely changed the course of the match by taking 3 important wickets in a span of just 7 balls. He took 3 wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs and broke the back of KKR’s batting.
In batting, Sanju Samson played an important inning of 48 runs for Chennai, while Dewald Brevis maintained the fast run pace by scoring 41 runs. Young batsman Ayush Mhatre played an explosive inning of 38 unbeaten runs in just 17 balls, taking the team to a strong score. Apart from this, Sarfaraz Khan added 23 runs and Shivam Dubey added 13 runs.
Although Chennai did not have a good start and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was out after scoring only 7 runs, but after that the middle order took the responsibility and took the team to a big score.
Kolkata Knight Riders, who came to chase the target, also had a bad start. Finn Allen returned to the pavilion after scoring only 1 run. Sunil Narine scored 24 runs, captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 28 runs and Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 27 runs, but no batsman could play a big innings.
