Hyderabad: Nani’s The Paradise has crossed the Rs 144 crore mark in worldwide gross collection, but the film witnessed a sharp decline at the Indian box office on its first Monday. The Srikanth Odela-directed action drama earned around Rs 5 crore nett on Day 5, according to trade website Sacnilk.
The Monday collection represents a significant drop from the film’s weekend performance. The Paradise had collected Rs 15.70 crore nett in India on Sunday, meaning its first-Monday earnings were around 68 per cent lower than the previous day’s figure.
With the Day 5 collection added, The Paradise has taken its India nett total to approximately Rs 97.10 crore. The film’s worldwide gross has reached around Rs 144 crore as it enters the weekday phase of its theatrical run.

The Paradise began its theatrical run with paid previews on September 23, when it collected Rs 11.60 crore nett in India. The film then recorded Rs 34.65 crore on its first official day of release, September 24.
The combined collection from the paid previews and opening day stood at Rs 46.25 crore. The strong start gave Nani’s film considerable momentum heading into its first weekend.
However, the film saw a substantial correction on Friday. Its Day 2 collection stood at Rs 14.90 crore nett, followed by Rs 15.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 15.70 crore on Sunday.
The Sunday figure suggested that the film had found some stability after the steep fall following its opening day. That trend changed on Monday, when the collection fell to around Rs 5 crore.

“I’m heartwarmed by the way audience have owned the film, and also learnt from the flaws that critics and reviewers have pointed out,” he added.
Nani thanked viewers for embracing the film regardless of whether their reactions were positive or negative. He also credited the audience’s enthusiasm and affection for the film.

Directed by Srikanth Odela, The Paradise is set in 1980s Secunderabad and centres on the Savaari tribe, whose members are fighting for citizenship despite their contribution to the region.
