Automobile Desk: Many vehicles have been introduced in the Indian automobile market under the partnership of Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. After the recent changes in the premium hatchback segment, now Toyota is also preparing to give a new look to its popular car Glanza.
According to the ongoing discussions in the auto sector, the new facelift model of Toyota Glanza can be seen on Indian roads by October 2026. Although the company has not yet made any official announcement regarding its sale or launch, it is believed that many modern safety and comfort features will be included in it.
In terms of design, Toyota has always tried to give a distinct and premium identity to its cars. The same strategy can be seen in the new Glanza also. Some new cosmetic changes can be made in the front look of the car, which may include a new pattern of the grill and balanced use of chrome.
Apart from this, slight re-profiling can be done in the front bumper and bonnet portion to make the vehicle look more attractive from the front. The headlamp setup is expected to retain LED DRLs and integrated turn indicators. Talking about the side and rear profile, newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels and updated LED tail lamps can be given, which will give it a sporty look.
This time the biggest and most important change can be seen in the cabin and features of the car. Considering the competition in the segment, Toyota can provide 'Level 2 ADAS' (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technology in it. Under this safety feature, modern features like automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and high beam assist can be found in the vehicle. For the convenience of drivers, a dedicated button to turn this feature on or off can also be provided.
To make the cabin more comfortable, ventilation facility can be provided in the front seats, which proves to be quite useful in the hot weather of India. For entertainment and connectivity, premium features like a large 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, HUD (head-up display), 360-degree camera, wireless phone charger, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and UV-cut glasses will make this hatchback quite strong in its segment. In terms of safety, it is almost certain that 6 airbags, ABS and EBD support will be available as standard.
Big changes are also possible at the level of performance and mechanism. In place of the existing 4-cylinder engine, a new 1.2-litre Z-series (Z12E) 3-cylinder petrol engine can be given. This engine is capable of generating maximum power of about 81 bhp and torque of 112 Nm. Transmission options may include 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. After petrol variants, the company can also introduce its CNG avatar in future for the customers who want more mileage.
