New Delhi: A film-like scene was seen on the high-speed road of the capital on Tuesday, when a young man riding a bike on NH-24 suddenly faltered and stopped on the roadside. Within a few moments the young man's condition started deteriorating. Vehicles were passing nearby but Ghazipur police station of Eastern district took charge without wasting a moment. The promptness and timely decision taken by the policemen took the young man to the hospital and played an important role in saving his life.

The police team was deployed at the NH-24 picket under the supervision of Eastern District DCP Rajiv Kumar Rawal and the leadership of Ghazipur police station SHO. Head Constable Bipin No. 927/E, Head Constable Arvind No. 814/E, Head Constable Jitendra No. 564/E, Head Constable Ashok, Head Constable Ram Gopal, DHG Ranjeet and other policemen were present on duty.

At around 11:15 am, the policemen spotted TVS motorcycle number DL-14 SZ-8812. The young man riding the bike suddenly staggered and stopped on the roadside. Within no time his condition became such that he started becoming unconscious. Realizing the situation, the policemen immediately ran towards him and took him under control.

'Rescue operation' started in filmy style

Seeing the condition of the youth, the policemen immediately provided first aid. At first glance, there appeared to be a possibility of him having a heart related problem. At such times every second was precious. Instead of wasting time in formalities, the police team decided to immediately take the youth to the hospital. Head Constable Bipin took out his personal car and along with Head Constable Arvind and DHG Ranjeet took the young man and went straight towards the emergency unit of LBS Hospital.

The entire incident involving a car running on the road and a young man struggling for his life was no less than a rescue scene from a movie, but the most important part of this story was that there was no on-screen hero here, but the policemen in uniform were trying to save his life. As soon as he reached the hospital, the young man was handed over to the doctors. Doctors started his treatment. Timely transportation to the hospital by the police was considered very important for the young man.

The young man is a resident of Sahibabad.

According to the police, the youth was identified as 30-year-old Nitin, resident of Sahibabad. The family members of the youth were informed. After some time the family reached the hospital. The police team also kept the young man's motorcycle, two mobile phones and bag safe and later handed them over to his family members. In this entire incident, Ghazipur police station not only performed the duty of law and order but also showed human sensitivity in the time of crisis. The promptness of the police proved to be decisive for the young man suddenly swinging between life and death on the road. The police proved that the uniform does not just guard the law, it also holds the thread of life if necessary.
