There will be a big impact on the pocket from October 1! This change is happening in the rules of LPG cylinder, bank and FD.

The first date of every month brings with it many big changes, and this time from October 1, 2026, many such rules are going to change in the country which will have a direct impact on your everyday life and budget. There is going to be a big change in the rules ranging from LPG gas cylinder to bank FD, NPS, TDS on property and birth-death certificate. If you also use these services, then it is very important to know about these new rules in time so that any kind of problem can be avoided.

New rules for LPG cylinder booking and subsidy

If you also use LPG gas cylinder, then many big changes are going to be implemented from October 1. First of all, biometric Aadhaar authentication i.e. e-KYC has been made mandatory for subsidized LPG. If you do not get the e-KYC done on time, you will get the cylinder, but the subsidy money will not come into your account and you will have to pay the full market price. Therefore, to avoid any problem, immediately go to your gas agency and get the e-KYC completed.

Apart from this, a new rule is also being implemented regarding booking of gas cylinders. Now it has been made mandatory to have a gap of at least 25 days between booking of two gas cylinders. This new rule will be equally applicable to customers in both rural and urban areas. This means that now you will be able to book a new cylinder only after completion of exactly 25 days of the previous delivery. Like always, new prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders will be released on the first of this month also.

Strictness in the rules of birth and death certificates

'Birth and Death Amendment Act 2026' is going to be implemented in the country from October 1, after which registration of births and deaths will become even more strict. If you do not apply for the certificate on time, you will have to go through the stringent process under the rules if there is a delay. If there is a delay of 1 to 2 years in registration, it will require an order from the concerned DM or SDM. However, if the delay exceeds 2 years, the certificate will not be registered without the order of the First Class Magistrate or Judge.

Relief for bank FD and property buyers

According to the new instructions of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), now it will be mandatory for all small finance banks to update the interest rates of Fixed Deposit (FD) and Bulk Deposit on their official website daily by 10 am. Banks will be given additional time of 10 minutes for this i.e. they can upload these rates on their website till 10:10 am.

Apart from this, if you are thinking of buying a property from an NRI, then this news has brought a big relief for you. The government has simplified the process of paying TDS for resident individuals and HUFs. Earlier, it was mandatory to obtain TAN number for this process, but now under the new system, TDS can be easily paid only through PAN based challan.
