US President Donald Trump has rejected Mojtaba Ali Khamenei's country's ceasefire offer, warning that he will attack Tehran again after November's midterm elections. In this situation, Iran threatened again on Sunday. The Middle Eastern country's military said, “We are ready for a US attack. If that happens, there will be renewed instability in the Gulf region.”
Iran's representatives at the UN session pointed out that diplomacy is the only way to resolve the conflict with America and Israel. Trump issued a warning a few hours after these comments. On Saturday, he said, he rejected Iran's offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and suspend the conflict. Mohammad Akraminia, the spokesman of the Iranian military, said on Sunday that the Iranian forces are now much more prepared than when the conflict began on February 28. He claimed that improved military equipment has been incorporated, physical and mental strength of the army has increased through rigorous training.
In the words of an Iranian military spokesman, “If the enemy launches another attack, the region will undoubtedly be a bigger war than before. The common people will face more instability and violence.” He also warned in a tone of caution that the neighboring countries will also suffer as a result. Mohammed Akraminya threatened to retaliate against US-friendly countries.
Recently, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghachi told reporters at the United Nations that they have sent a peace proposal to Washington through Qatar's mediators. He expressed the hope of reopening Hormuz and a ceasefire if the agreement is reached. In such a situation, Trump's attitude is clear from the outset, the conflict is not a matter so quickly.
Notably, Iran's top diplomat said, “If America is really serious about reaching an agreement and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, then the rest is ready.” A US official also told Reuters news agency that “positive and constructive talks” are underway between Washington and Tehran through mediators. Just a few days ago, while addressing the United Nations, Iranian President Masoud Pezheskian said, “We are not terrorists. We have only defended ourselves. America and Israel have launched a cowardly attack on our country. Our innocent people have been the targets of the aggression. So we have defended ourselves with maximum force.” He also said, “Iran needs to be strong to thwart the threat. But Tehran does not want to use its power for hegemony.
