Lucknow. To ease access to religious and tourist places in Uttar Pradesh, a plan is being worked on to make eight major roads four-lane. Information has been given that about Rs 1,346 crore will be spent on these projects. Widening of roads can provide travel facilities to devotees and tourists and can also improve transportation in the surrounding areas.
Access to these religious places will be easy
The proposed plans include routes leading to important religious places like Kalki Dham in Sambhal, Naimisharanya in Sitapur, Shukratal in Muzaffarnagar, Sankisa in Farrukhabad and Fazilnagar in Kushinagar. Apart from this, a plan has also been made to widen the roads of Mirzapur and Bareilly districts.
Which roads will be made fourlane?
Be careful: There is a plan to widen the 18.26 km road from Sambhal-Joya road to Khirni Ganga Expressway via Kalki Dham at a cost of Rs 140.77 crore.
Sitapur: It is proposed to spend Rs 92.54 crore on the 10 kilometer stretch of Kalli-Neemsar-Panhagar road. A plan of Rs 287 crore has also been made for about 29 kilometers of road from Sidhauli to Naimisharanya.
Muzaffarnagar: There is a plan to spend Rs 22.74 crore on widening of the 4.7 km road from Morna to Shukratal.
Mirzapur: It is estimated that Rs 70.30 crore will be spent on four-laning the 2.4 kilometer road from Shastri Bridge to Bastar Tiraha via Dudhnath Tiraha.
Farrukhabad: There is a plan of Rs 14.22 crore for the 1.6 kilometer stretch of Mohammadabad-Sankisa road.
Kushinagar: It has been informed that a plan worth Rs 19.47 crore has been approved for widening of 1.4 km stretch of Fazilnagar-Baghouchghat road.
Bareilly: An action plan worth Rs 699 crore has been said to be approved for the 41 kilometer road from Ahichchhatra Jain temple to Bhamaura via Amla. This route also connects to Binawar Interchange of Ganga Expressway.
Devotees and tourists will benefit
Widening of roads can reduce the time taken to reach religious places and the traffic system is expected to be better. This can also boost tourism, local business and economic activities of the surrounding areas.
However, construction of all the projects is not scheduled to start simultaneously. Some schemes are in the process of approval, while some have been informed about getting approval. It is important to see the official notice of the concerned department for the dates of commencement and completion of construction.
