A huge crowd of devotees gathered in the temples in Banka from around 2 pm on Monday night. A large number of Kanwariyas reached Banka after filling Ganga water from Sultanganj, covering a distance of about 50 kilometers on foot and in vehicles. Devotees performed Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva and prayed for his happiness and prosperity.

The atmosphere in the temple premises remained devotional with the chants of Har Har Mahadev and Bol Bam. In view of the crowd of devotees, police force was deployed for security and surveillance in the temples. The process of worship continued in the Shivalayas since morning.
