Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached New Zealand in the next leg of his foreign trip. PM Modi received a warm and grand welcome as soon as he stepped into Auckland. The enthusiasm of the expatriates present there was sky high after seeing PM Modi among the people of the Indian community settled in New Zealand. The entire hall echoed with slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’. While addressing the Indians there, PM Modi said that the coming of an Indian Prime Minister to New Zealand after 40 years is historic in itself, but now this trend is not going to be broken.

25 years old muffler and memories of ‘Waka’

Reviving old memories, PM Modi said that this time he has brought a special muffler with him to New Zealand. He told that about 25-30 years ago, when he was not a part of the government, he got an opportunity to come to New Zealand. The muffler and gloves that he got at that time, he has kept them very carefully even today. Linking the relationship between India and New Zealand to the New Zealand tradition of ‘Waka’, PM Modi said that it is not just the name of a boat, but a symbol of our common journey.

Connection from sports to space

The Prime Minister praised the success of people of Indian origin in New Zealand. Citing names like Rachin Ravindra, Ajaz Patel and Anand Satyanand, he said that the Kiwi-Indian community in New Zealand is reaching new heights. The PM reminded that when India’s Chandrayaan-3 landed on the south pole of the Moon, New Zealand was also dancing with joy. He said that from space sector to sports field, both the countries can achieve great achievements by working with each other.

New era of rugby and sports

Referring to sports relations, PM Modi said that this year the sports relations between India and New Zealand are completing 100 years. He recalled the period of Major Dhyan Chand, when his hockey talent had won the hearts of New Zealand. Now India wants to learn from New Zealand in the field of rugby and for this has insisted on taking the help of experienced coaches and experts. He said that this cooperation in the field of sports will take both the countries to a new height.

‘Modi’s guarantee’ and India’s speed

Enumerating his achievements, the PM said that today India has become the world’s second largest fish producer and third largest automobile market. Referring to India’s digital revolution, he said that billions of transactions are taking place every month through UPI. The world is watching India’s growing credibility in drone and space technology. In the end he promised amid huge enthusiasm, “This time it took 40 years for the PM to come, but next time it will not happen, this is Modi’s guarantee.”
