Sisters from all over the state tied the Raksha Sutra to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday at the Chief Sevak Sadan located in the Chief Minister Camp Office. During this, the sisters sincerely wished for the healthy and long life of the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister warmly welcomed all the sisters who reached the camp office and thanked them and extended hearty greetings to all the people of the state on this holy festival of Raksha Bandhan.
Mother's blessings are the real energy of development
During the program, the Chief Minister said that Raksha Bandhan is the holy festival of unwavering love, unwavering trust and strong resolve of protection between brothers and sisters. He said that the love and blessings of the mother power and sisters of the state continuously provides him new energy to serve Uttarakhand and for the all-round development of the state. The Chief Minister emphasized that our maternal power, besides being the strong foundation of the family, is also making an important contribution in the development of the society and the entire country.
The impact of central and state government schemes is visible on the ground
The Chief Minister said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has always given the respect, safety and economic empowerment of women its top priority. The historic provision of 33 percent reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies is a big example of this. Apart from this, many schemes like Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao have worked to bring positive changes in the lives of women and daughters.
Referring to the policies of the state government, the Chief Minister said that the state government is also continuously working for the welfare and self-reliance of mother power. Women are being given 30 percent horizontal reservation in all services of the state government. He said that the government has paid special attention to creating new opportunities for women as well as their economic empowerment.
More than 3 lakh women became 'Lakhpati Didi' in Uttarakhand
Expressing pride, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Lakhpati Didi' has been rapidly implemented in Uttarakhand. The result of this is that till now more than 3 lakh 09 thousand women have become 'Lakhpati Didi' in the state. Women associated with self-help groups are strengthening their livelihood through local products, agriculture, handicrafts and various self-employment activities, which is also giving impetus to the economy of the state.
He further said that new opportunities for self-employment and livelihood are being provided to women through major schemes like Chief Minister Sashakt Bahana Utsav Yojana, Chief Minister Women Self Help Group Empowerment Scheme and Chief Minister Mahalaxmi Yojana. The state government is also making continuous efforts to provide better markets to the local products prepared by women self-help groups and to increase their income.
The dream of developed India will come true with strong Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister said that the mother power of Uttarakhand has played an important role at every turn from the movement for creation of a separate state to the development of the state. Today the women of the state are showing their amazing abilities in every field including education, health, administration, agriculture, self-employment, entrepreneurship and social sector. Only with this active participation of mother power can the resolve of a strong Uttarakhand and developed India be fulfilled.
