Three accused arrested for vandalism and stone pelting at Khan Sir’s coaching institute

Khan Global Coaching Institute was vandalized and stone pelted by some anti-social elements on Tuesday night.

Patna. Police have arrested three people in connection with the vandalism and stone pelting at the coaching institute of teacher Faisal Khan, popularly known as ‘Khan Sir’, in Patna, the capital of Bihar. Officials said that the director of a rival coaching institute is also among the arrested accused.

Some anti-social elements vandalized and pelted stones at ‘Khan Global Coaching Institute’ located in Kadamkuan police station area of ​​Patna on Tuesday night. Khan had initially claimed that there had been firing at the institute, but the police did not confirm this. Khan later said that only after investigation it would be clear what actually happened.

A statement issued by the office of Superintendent of Police (City) said, “At around 10:10 pm on Tuesday night, information was received about stone pelting and damage to property at ‘Khan Global Coaching Institute’ in Kadamkuan police station area. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and started investigating the matter.”

According to the statement, preliminary investigation and examination of CCTV footage have revealed that 15-20 people associated with another coaching institute located in Patna were allegedly involved in the incident of stone pelting and vandalism.

Deputy Superintendent of Police-1 (City) Rajesh Ranjan said, after examining the CCTV footage of the coaching institute and surrounding areas, the firing has not been confirmed. There is no mention of firing even in the written complaint given by the coaching institute. In the CCTV footage, some people are seen throwing bricks and stones and demolishing hoardings. Ranjan said that four named people, including Roshan Anand, director of a rival coaching institute, and 15-20 unidentified people have been made accused in the case.

He said that among the named accused, Roshan Anand, Abhishek and Gaurav have been arrested, while efforts are on to nab the other accused. According to the police, an FIR has been registered under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) on the basis of a written complaint by Kanhaiya Kumar Singh, manager of ‘Khan Global Coaching Institute’.

Ranjan said that prima facie the matter appears to be one of rivalry between coaching institutes, but the police is thoroughly investigating all aspects. He confirmed that the institute’s security guard was assaulted, resulting in head injuries and is being treated at Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH).
