Air India has launched a new non-stop service between Toronto and Mumbai, giving travellers a direct connection between the Greater Toronto Area and India’s commercial capital. The seasonal route began on October 25, 2026, and will operate three times a week through March 26, 2027, strengthening travel links for families, businesses and visitors.

In a statement marking the occasion, the Consulate General of India highlighted Singhvi’s appreciation for the new service. He welcomed the connection as an opportunity to bring Mumbai within easier reach of the GTA, supporting business, trade, tourism and education while making it more convenient for families and friends to stay connected.

For passengers planning winter travel, the service offers a non-stop option on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, according to Air India’s published schedule. The airline says the route adds nearly 2,000 seats each week across both directions between India and Canada, providing additional capacity during the festive and holiday travel season.

Air India is operating the route with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft featuring upgraded interiors. The announced configuration includes eight First Class suites with privacy doors, 40 fully flat Business Class beds and 280 Economy Class seats, with onboard Wi-Fi also available.

The new connection also provides options for passengers travelling beyond Mumbai. Toronto Pearson says travellers can connect through Air India’s network to destinations including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi, extending the service’s usefulness to people visiting other parts of India.

The Mumbai launch forms part of Air India’s wider Canadian operations for the winter 2026–27 season. The airline’s announced network includes 20 weekly services in each direction between the two countries: 10 linking Delhi and Toronto, three linking Mumbai and Toronto, and seven linking Delhi and Vancouver.

Beyond the travel benefits, the consulate presented the launch as a positive development in India–Canada relations. Its statement emphasized the personal connections underpinning the bilateral relationship and described improved air connectivity as another way to strengthen those ties.

Congratulating Air India and Toronto Pearson on the milestone, the consulate extended its wishes for safe and pleasant journeys to passengers. Its message placed families and friends at the centre of the occasion, highlighting the role of the new service in helping people maintain connections across the two countries.
