New Delhi. Toyota has launched a new model of its popular pickup truck, the Toyota Hilux, in the Indian market. This is the ninth-generation model of this pickup, already available globally, and features a new exterior, modern interior, and advanced features. However, it remains based on the same IMV body-on-frame platform.
Price and variants
The new Toyota Hilux is available in three variants, with prices starting at ₹ 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
GX 4×2 Automatic – Rs 31.99 lakh
GX 4×4 Automatic – Rs 33.69 lakh
VX 4×4 Automatic – Rs 36.69 lakh (ex-showroom)
New design and style
The new Hilux’s front end has been made bolder and more premium. It features slim LED headlamps, a honeycomb grille, and large Toyota lettering on the front. Furthermore, black wheel arch cladding, a roll bar, new 18-inch alloy wheels, and footboards add to its powerful appearance.
The rear features C-shaped LED taillamps, a new bumper, and an integrated step that makes accessing the cargo bed easier. The pickup will be available in six colors, including Sulfur Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red, and Super White.
Interior and advanced features
The Hilux’s cabin features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets a new three-spoke steering wheel and the Toyota Smart Connect system.
Talking about features, it includes modern features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, connected car technology, powered and ventilated front seats, multi-terrain modes, OTA updates, 360-degree camera and ADAS.
Engine and Performance
The new Toyota Hilux is powered by the same 2.8-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 204 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Customers can choose from 4×2 and 4×4 drive options.
