Tragic accident on Chandigarh-Manali Highway: Two trucks collide head-on in the tunnel, 3 killed; 8 injured

Market. Three people died and eight were injured in a horrific road accident on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway on Thursday morning. The accident occurred after a massive head-on collision between two trucks in Tunnel No. 12. The condition of two of the injured is said to be critical, who have been referred to Nerchowk Medical College for better treatment.

Two trucks collided head-on in the tunnel-
The accident happened in Tunnel No. 12 at around quarter to eight on Thursday morning. According to the information, there was a sudden collision between a truck with Punjab number and a truck with Himachal number. The collision was so severe that many people traveling in both the vehicles were injured.

As soon as information about the accident was received, the police team and investigating officer reached the spot. Police started relief and rescue operations with the help of local people. The injured were taken to the Community Health Center at Nagwain through 108 ambulances.

3 were declared dead as soon as they reached the hospital-
Doctors declared three people dead at Nagwain Hospital. After giving first aid to other injured, they were referred to Medical College Ner Chowk and Regional Hospital Kullu.

The condition of two of the injured is said to be critical. In view of the critical condition, both of them have been sent to Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Hospital, Nerchowk.

Police searching for the reason for the accident-
After the horrific collision, traffic on the highway was affected for some time. The police have inspected the incident site and started investigation into the accident. At present, it is not known what caused the collision between the two trucks.

DSP Padhar Lokendra Negi, while confirming the accident, said that action is being taken in the matter as per rules and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
