Train or fish market? Reels at full volume at night and lights on at 4:30 in the morning; Social media furious over co-passenger’s misbehavior!
Traveling in Indian Railways can be enjoyed only as long as the co-passengers sitting around you are sensible and well-mannered. Imagine, you are trying to sleep peacefully in the train bogie after a long and tiring overnight journey and suddenly a passenger starts playing reels or short videos on the mobile at full volume at midnight. One such extremely disturbing and headache causing incident is going viral on the internet these days. Fed up with this irresponsible action of a woman, a co-passenger has vented his anger on the social media platform Reddit, after which a new and heated debate has started on the internet about the lack of ‘civic sense’ among Indians. ‘A woman becomes a villain in a pleasant journey’: A co-passenger opens a box of sorrows on Reddit A distressed railway passenger has shared the entire raw diary of his very bad and tiring journey on a community forum of Reddit. The passenger told that in the third AC (3AC) coach in which he was traveling, initially everything was very calm and orderly. At night almost everyone was sleeping comfortably and even the small children present in the bogie were not making any noise. But this peace of bogie could not last long. A woman was traveling in the coach with her husband and child. The passenger wrote that the woman did not have anything called basic social sense (civic sense). From the very beginning, she was very irritable and was arguing with her husband in the coach on small matters. Reels in full voice at midnight: Woman’s stubbornness became everyone’s headache. According to the passenger, the woman’s husband and child were sleeping on the upper berth, while the woman had the side upper berth. Without any concrete reason, she insisted on changing her seat from her husband at midnight and created a ruckus in the bogie. What happened after the husband changed seats, made life difficult for the passengers of the entire coach. As soon as she sat on the seat, the woman started watching Facebook and Instagram reels in full volume on her smartphone without wearing earphones in the silence of midnight. Due to the loud sound of mobile phones and the noise of continuously changing reels, the sleep of people sleeping on nearby seats was completely disturbed. Climax of trouble: The bogie lights were forcibly switched on at 4:30 in the morning! The troubles of the co-passengers did not end here, rather it increased as the morning progressed. The woman slept only for 3-4 hours at night and woke up exactly at 4:30 in the morning. As soon as she woke up, she again started arguing loudly with her husband in the bogie regarding the cooling of the coach’s AC and other arrangements. The limit reached when he switched on the main light of the entire compartment without thinking, while it was dark outside and all the other passengers were in deep sleep. When her own husband and other co-passengers politely requested her to switch off the lights, she got angry at them and started ranting. He clearly refused and did not switch off the lights, due to which the people present in the bogie became extremely uncomfortable. ‘If it’s so much of a problem, then buy a private jet’: People’s anger erupted over Reddit post. The troubled passenger angrily wrote in his post, "I don’t understand how such rude and ill-mannered people get confirmed tickets in trains. If you have so much trouble in adjusting with the common people in public transport, then buy your own private jet and travel in it. When there is no money in the pocket, then the attitude should also be limited accordingly." The passenger further wrote sarcastically that the small children traveling in that bogie were more intelligent and mature than the woman, who were at least taking care of the peace of others. After this Reddit post went viral, the anger of social media users has reached sky high and people are demanding strict action against such passengers in Railways. In the comment section, a user expressed his grief and wrote, "Today I am also traveling by a train and the family next to me is waking up at 4 in the morning and playing bhajans loudly on the loudspeaker on their mobile. When I dared to interrupt him, he said that the whole world has woken up, you are so lazy to be sleeping till now." At the same time, another user wrote in a sharp taunt, "Some people feel that the entire Indian Railways is their father’s property. Be it bus, train or flight—you can never expect to travel peacefully and comfortably with some Indians."
