The case of the death of late celebrity manager Disha Salian is once again in the news in Mumbai. After the FIR was registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray has reacted on this matter. Through a post on social media, he denied having any kind of introduction or meeting with Disha Salian. Aditya Thackeray said that he neither met Disha Salian nor knew her. He described linking his name to this case as an attempt to harm his image.
Aditya Thackeray said that for the last several years, his name has been linked to the case of Disha Salian's death through different claims. He alleges that a campaign was launched against him by spreading wrong information. However, these are Aditya Thackeray's own allegations and the facts related to the case can be confirmed only after the conclusion of the investigation.
CBI registered FIR
Following the instructions of Bombay High Court, CBI has registered an FIR in the case of Disha Salian's death. With this, the investigation into the nearly six year old case has started once again. CBI is reviewing old police records, post-mortem report, forensic documents and other evidence related to the case. The investigating agency can also record statements of those people who were in contact with Disha Salian before or during the incident.
Names of many people have appeared in media reports in connection with the FIR and investigation of the case. Apart from Aditya Thackeray, other people including Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Sooraj Pancholi and Dino Morea have been mentioned. However, the appearance of a person's name in the investigation or FIR does not in itself prove a crime. The role of the people concerned will be decided during the investigation.
Aditya Thackeray denied the allegations
Aditya Thackeray in his statement clearly denied meeting Disha Salian or having any kind of acquaintance with her. He said that a continuous attempt was made to create a false impression against him by linking his name to this case. He asked the investigating agencies to investigate the case on the basis of facts and available evidence.
After his statement, old questions related to Disha Salian's death have once again come into public discussion. However, the reality of the various allegations and claims made in the case will become clear only after the findings of the investigating agency.
