A state-by-state rollout of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) could produce different legal frameworks across India even as the BJP-led NDA seeks to implement the code in all 21 NDA-ruled states before the 2029 Lok Sabha election. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the deadline in Mumbai on September 13.
