Tezzbuzz Desk- The proposed 'UGC Rollback Savarna Mahapanchayat' at Jantar Mantar has been postponed for the time being after talks between Union Minister JP Nadda and the Karni Sena delegation. The government has given assurance of considering the demands.
The proposed 'UGC Rollback Savarna Mahapanchayat' at Delhi's Jantar Mantar has been postponed for the time being. This decision was taken after a meeting between the delegation including Union Minister JP Nadda and Karni Sena National President Raj Shekhawat. Union Minister Jitendra Singh was also present in the meeting. According to the information, this meeting took place at Nadda's residence a few hours before the demonstration started. Nadda said through a social media post that his issues were discussed with the delegation in a cordial atmosphere. He said that the government will seriously consider their demands and a meeting will be held again with the delegation in the next three weeks.
The objective of the proposed Mahapanchayat was to highlight the concerns being raised regarding reservation policies and the recently notified UGC Promotion of Equality in Higher Education Institutions Regulations, 2026. Earlier, Delhi Police had refused permission to the proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar on September 20. After this, Kshatriya Karni Sena approached Delhi High Court, but the court refused to give immediate hearing against the police decision.
Karni Sena national president Raj Shekhawat had earlier appealed to people through social media to participate in the Mahapanchayat. He had urged the supporters to follow the rules of the administration and maintain discipline. Representatives of Samruddha Sanatan Sangh, All India Kshatriya Mahasabha, Kshatriya Karni Sena and Savarna Mahapanchayat Samiti attended the meeting.
