Over 2,500 kg of garbage was collected from Pasi Road and Bhupinder Road, taking the total to 3,900 kg of garbage collected from seven major roads cleaned in three days under the campaign.
Thanking the Municipal Corporation and Patiala Traffic Police for their help in traffic management during the cleanliness drive, Punjab Pollution Control Board Chairperson Reena Gupta said, “Let us make cleanliness a new social norm. We appeal to citizens and civil society organizations to come together to turn this campaign into a people-led movement that inspires every generation. If every person contributes even a few hours every month, we can all live together We can create a clean, healthy and better Punjab.”
Motivating everyone to make Punjab the cleanest state of India, the Chairperson appealed to the Local Government Department and the people of Punjab to segregate solid waste at source-level and dispose of it properly. Gupta also appealed to all the NGOs, Senior Citizens Association, Eco Club and other social organizations of the city to join this mission and help in making Patiala the cleanest city of Punjab.
Under 'Mission Clean Patiala', launched in April 2026, Punjab Pollution Control Board has brought together major institutions, enforcement agencies and community groups of Patiala on one platform. Around 30 institutions participated in the first phase of the campaign and adopted more than 30 public places for cleanliness drive and saving the environment. These included 18 schools, 10 colleges and four government institutions of Patiala city.
The second phase of the campaign was launched in July 2026, in which seven more institutions have joined. This brings the total number of organizations participating in the campaign to 39.
