‘Marriage Grant Scheme’ Yogi government is providing financial assistance to OBC daughters of UP

Under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is emerging as a ‘security shield’ for the deprived and weaker sections of the society. The state government’s ‘Marriage Grant Scheme’ is proving to be a big scheme especially for the poor families of Other Backward Classes (OBC). During the financial year 2025-26, the government, fulfilling its responsibility as a guardian, has provided direct financial assistance to more than one lakh daughters. The scheme is not only reducing the financial burden of the families, but is also writing a new chapter of social empowerment.

CM Yogi’s resolution

Daughters are on top priority of Yogi government. Due to financial constraints, families were worried about the marriage of their daughters. For them this scheme is no less than a boon. Assistance has been provided to more than 1,16,000 beneficiaries so far in the financial year 2025-26. The government has invested Rs 232 crore on this. This amount is proof of how much the Yogi government is engaged in providing help to every needy.

Direct assistance to 20,000 people

Under the scheme, every eligible family is given financial assistance of more than Rs 20 thousand for the marriage of their daughter. The government has started the PFMS system, completely eliminating the possibility of corruption. Through this, money is transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account. The benefit of this scheme is available to those families whose annual income is up to Rs 1 lakh. Along with this, mandatory age requirements have also effectively put a stop to the evil practice like child marriage in the state.
