UP Election 2027 : Before the UP Assembly elections, Yogi Government has taken a very important and precautionary step regarding the security of the leaders. On the basis of intelligence input and security review, the Yogi government has decided to provide bulletproof jackets to 44 prominent leaders of the state, including former Chief Ministers Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati. Security Headquarters has completed the procurement process of these special bulletproof jackets at a cost of approximately Rs 10 lakh.

From ministers to leaders with Y and Z+ security included
This decision to increase the security cover has been taken on the basis of possible threats, rising above party politics. This jacket is being given to 11 ministers of the Yogi government, which include prominent faces like Sanjay Nishad and Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi'. Apart from former Chief Ministers Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati, firebrand leaders like Sangeet Som and Suresh Rana have also been included in this security cover. This special bulletproof jacket is being given to leaders and selected MLAs with Y category to Z+ security.
Precautionary measures based on intelligence inputs
In the election environment, huge crowds gather during public meetings, rallies and road-shows of leaders. Considering the inputs from the state police and intelligence agencies, the government has taken this step as a precautionary measure to rule out the possibility of any untoward incident or attack. However, no official statement has been issued by the government or the security headquarters on the exact technical and intelligence reasons for giving the jackets as per the protocol of security agencies.
