The political temperature has already started rising regarding Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027. Meanwhile, Congress has started making its stand absolutely clear regarding seat sharing with Samajwadi Party (SP). UP Congress in-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam has given a big statement saying that he will try his best to complete all the negotiations regarding seat adjustment within the month of October. The benefit from this will be that all the leaders who get tickets will get adequate and complete time to prepare for the elections.
'We are equal partners, a little up and down is acceptable'
Rajendra Pal Gautam said bluntly that the Congress Party wants completely respectable participation within the alliance. He further said, “We are equal stakeholders. We want equal respect and equal seats. However, despite this, we are flexible. If it comes to increasing or decreasing the number of seats, we have no problem in that.” He also made it clear that the Congress party is currently preparing to contest elections on more than 150 seats, however, any final decision regarding the seats will be taken only after mutual talks between senior leaders of both the parties. Preparations are going on for Congress to strengthen its ground in all 403 assembly seats of the state.
SP said- 'The question is not about seat, but about victory'
Samajwadi Party has also reacted to Congress's statement of contesting elections on more than 150 seats. SP leader Fakhrul Hasan Chand said that party chief Akhilesh Yadav has already made his stand completely clear regarding the alliance. Fakhrul Hasan Chand said that Akhilesh Yadav has clearly said that the real question is not about the number of seats but about winning the elections. He said that the final decision on the alliance will be taken by the national leadership of both the parties together. Therefore, Samajwadi Party should not comment on what the UP Congress in-charge, MP or state president is saying.
In the end, the SP leader also assured that the alliance of Congress and Samajwadi Party will remain strong and both the parties together will fight the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongly. He said that one thing is absolutely certain and clear that both the parties will fight the elections together and defeat BJP.
