UP government's decision, great news for Anganwadi workers

Lucknow. Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has taken an important decision for Anganwadi workers and helpers. Now they will be given three sarees in a year instead of two. The proposal to give the third saree was approved in the cabinet meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

More than 3.80 lakh women will get benefits

A total of 3,80,290 Anganwadi workers and assistants of the state will benefit from this decision. According to Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, 1,90,145 Anganwadi centers are approved in the state. The post of one worker and one assistant is sanctioned for each centre.

Government will bear the cost of third saree

At present, two sarees are provided every year under the scheme with 60:40 sharing between the Center and the state. Now the entire expense of the additional i.e. third saree will be borne by the Uttar Pradesh government. For this, Rs 500 per saree has been fixed. The government will spend about Rs 19.02 crore on this arrangement.

You will get relief during work

Anganwadi workers have to wear prescribed uniforms while on duty. Extra saree will be useful in situations like daily use, washing saree, weather problems or the cloth suddenly gets dirty or damaged. With this decision of the government, they are expected to get some relief regarding clothes during work.

Services to children and women

Through Anganwadi centers of the state, supplementary nutrition is provided to children aged six months to six years, pregnant women and lactating mothers. This facility is also provided to adolescent girls aged 14 to 18 years in aspirational districts. Anganwadi workers and assistants play an important role in taking these schemes to the people.
