UP Legislature Monsoon Session: Monsoon session from August 3, Assembly Secretariat issued notification

Lucknow. The monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature will start from August 3. Principal Secretary Legislative Assembly Pradeep Dubey issued its notification on Friday. The monsoon session of Uttar Pradesh Legislature (UP Legislature Monsoon Session) will be of four days. The session starting from August 3 will be the third session of this year. The proposal to call the session was approved in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

This will include supplementary budget for the year 2026-27, replacement bills for ordinances and other important legislative work. This supplementary budget is considered important in view of the assembly elections of the year 2027. The second session of the state legislature was held on 30 April. On the same day, after the meetings of the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council ended, the proceedings of both the Houses were adjourned indefinitely. The session was adjourned on May 7.

According to Article 174 of the Constitution and the Procedure and Conduct of Business Rules of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, there cannot be a gap of more than six months between two sessions of the Legislative Assembly. It has been decided to call the upcoming session in accordance with this constitutional arrangement. The demands for supplementary grants for the financial year 2026-27 will be presented before the Legislature in the monsoon session. Apart from this, replacement bills for the ordinances issued for the implementation of important decisions of the government after the last session will also be presented in the House and passed. Along with this, other necessary legislative work will also be done.
