Uttar Pradesh Police Director General Rajiv Krishna has extended his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Asmita Dey, who won the gold medal in the women’s 48 kg weight category judo event at the Commonwealth Games 2026 held in Glasgow, Scotland, on her historic achievement.
In his message, DGP Rajiv Krishna said that winning a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games by Sub-Inspector Asmita Dey, posted in Ghaziabad, is a matter of pride not only for the Uttar Pradesh Police, but for the entire state and the country. He said that by becoming the first Indian judo player to win a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, Asmita Dey has added a new golden chapter to Indian sports history.
He said Asmita Dey’s achievement is a living example of discipline, determination, hard work and excellence, qualities that define an outstanding sportsperson and a dedicated police officer.
In his message, the DGP said that this success also reflects Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of continuously encouraging sports talent in the state and providing outstanding athletes with the opportunity to serve in the Uttar Pradesh Police through the sports quota. This is inspiring athletes to excel in public service and international sports competitions.
