Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday made serious allegations targeting the Uttar Pradesh Police. He said that UP Police is working like 'workers' of BJP. He has made this comment regarding the strong comments made by the Supreme Court recently on the functioning of the state police.
Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav said in the capital Lucknow, 'The Supreme Court and the High Court have repeatedly said that the police cannot be trusted. We have also been saying that the police is working like BJP workers. The former Chief Minister said that this problem will end only after the change of government in the state.

If BJP withdraws, the crisis will also go away.
He said that when BJP is removed, then the crisis will also go away. Akhilesh also mentioned the case related to Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate Medha Rupam. He said that the District Magistrate has challenged in the Supreme Court the order of the High Court imposing a fine of Rs 5 lakh in a case related to the action taken against a young woman under the National Security Act (NSA).

10 lakhs spent on lawyers to save five lakhs
The SP chief said, 'Just imagine, to save Rs 5 lakh, more than Rs 10 lakh is being spent on hiring lawyers.' Akhilesh's comments regarding the state police come a day after the Supreme Court on Wednesday expressed displeasure over the manner in which the Uttar Pradesh Police was investigating a molestation case in Bulandshahr.
A bench of Justices Sanjay Kumar and Sanjeev Sachdeva had questioned why the motorcyclist was described as unidentified in the FIR when the accused was allegedly caught on the spot. The bench had also raised questions on the method of registering FIR and investigation in the related case.
