Upcoming SUVs: The popularity of the compact SUV segment is continuously increasing in the Indian automobile market. The competition in this segment is going to become more tough in the coming years. ‘Tata Motors and Mahindra are preparing to launch their new and powerful SUV. These include SUVs like Mahindra Vision.S, Next Generation Tata Nexon and Tata Mini Sierra (Scarlet). New designs, modern features and updated powertrain can be seen in these models.

Mahindra Vision.S: SUV will be prepared on new platform
Mahindra may launch the production model of its new compact SUV Vision.S as early as 2027. This SUV can be based on the company’s new NU_IQ platform.

In terms of design, Vision.S may be quite different from the existing models. It is expected to get a boxy design, clamshell bonnet, more ground clearance and rugged styling, which will give it a strong SUV look.

The cabin will be equipped with premium features
The interior of the Vision.S is likely to have features like a high-set dashboard, vertical AC vents, a large touchscreen infotainment system and a panoramic sunroof. The company can also add many advanced technology features to it.

Petrol and diesel engine options can be found
Mahindra Vision.S can be given 1.2 liter turbo petrol and 1.5 liter diesel engines. Apart from this, its electric version can also be launched in the market in future.

There will be major changes in Next Generation Tata Nexon
Tata Nexon is one of the most successful compact SUVs of the company. Launched in the year 2017, this SUV has made a strong hold in the Indian market. Now the company is preparing to launch its second generation model in 2027, which has been internally codenamed Tata Garud.

The new Nexon can be introduced with a completely new design and engineering. It is expected to get petrol, CNG and electric powertrain options. At the same time, hybrid technology can also be included in place of the existing diesel engine.

Tata Scarlet: New SUV entry in the form of Mini Sierra
About a year after the next-gen Nexon, Tata Motors may launch a new compact SUV, which is currently codenamed Tata Scarlet. It is being developed as the company’s popular Mini Sierra.

It may compete with Mahindra Vision.S and other new compact SUVs in the coming time.

What will be special in Mini Sierra?
Tata Scarlet may share the platform, engine and many mechanical parts with the new Nexon. However, its design will be more boxy and rugged. It can see more ground clearance and a strong SUV stance.

Mahindra Vision.S, Next-Gen Tata Nexon and Tata Scarlet SUVs are being designed keeping in mind the needs of different customers.
