Trump gave information about this plan during the Republican Convention in Dallas. He said that this amount will be given because of America’s economic strength and success. According to Trump, the dividend amount will have to be spent in America only. However, he did not yet clarify from where the money for the scheme would come and what would be the complete process of payment.
The entire plan will cost $1.35 trillion.
There are about 26.98 crore adults in America. If everyone was given $5,000, total spending could be about $1.35 trillion. This amount is bigger than the entire economy of many countries. According to World Bank data for 2025, GDP of only 19 countries in the world is more than this. This is also about 3.3 times more than Pakistan’s GDP.
Questions on government deficit and debt
The approval of the US Congress will be necessary to implement this plan. This proposal has come at a time when America’s annual budget deficit is about $1.8 trillion.
