Use petroleum products sparingly… PM Modi said in Hyderabad – Foreign currency will be saved.
Hyderabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that in view of the West Asia crisis, the need of the hour is to use petroleum products in a restrained manner. Speaking at the digital foundation stone laying ceremony and inauguration of development projects worth about Rs 9,400 crore in Telangana here in Hyderabad, he said imported petroleum products should be used only as per requirement as this would not only save foreign exchange but also reduce the adverse impact of war.
The Prime Minister said that in the last few years, India has become one of the top countries in the world in terms of solar energy and unprecedented work has been done in the field of blending ethanol with petrol. Modi said earlier the government was focused on 100 per cent LPG coverage, and now its focus is on affordable supply of gas through pipelines, while also promoting the use of CNG. He said that as a result of all these efforts, India is effectively facing the ongoing major energy crisis across the world.
Modi said, “In today’s time, it is also necessary that petrol, gas, diesel and other such products be used with great restraint. We should use imported petroleum products only as per requirement. This will not only save foreign exchange but will also reduce the adverse impact of war.”
Referring to Reddy’s comment that there should be no politics in development work, Modi said he too would not talk about politics. Assuring the Centre’s support towards Telangana, he urged Reddy to join him in the journey of development. He said, “I want to tell Revanth ji. I am ready to give you as much as the Center gave to Gujarat in 10 years. But, as per my knowledge, I want to tell you. As soon as I do that, what you are getting will be reduced to half. You will not be able to reach where you want to reach. So it is better that you join me.”
Modi said that there is nothing wrong in having different party governments in a democracy and the development of states is as important as the development of the country. He said that the development of the country is not possible without the development of the states and collective efforts are needed to achieve the goal of ‘Developed India 2047’. He also said that the country is undergoing rapid reforms and is also creating modern infrastructure. He assured every family in Telangana that the Center will “keep working even more vigorously” to realize their dreams.
Modi said the national highway network in Telangana has doubled in the last 11 years. Pointing to the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, he said that before 2014, the railway budget for undivided Andhra Pradesh was less than Rs 1,000 crore. But today the railway budget for Telangana alone is Rs 5,500 crore.
He said, “Are you listening Revanth ji? The railway budget of undivided Andhra Pradesh was less than Rs 1,000 crore. I am not talking about undivided Andhra Pradesh today, only the railway budget of Telangana is Rs 5,500 crore.” He said that railway projects worth about Rs 50,000 crore are ongoing in Telangana. Earlier, in his address, Chief Minister Reddy said the Center should support the state’s development efforts, including expansion of the metro rail network, Future City project and revitalization of the Musi Canal.
He requested Modi to give two hours to review the development proposals of Telangana. He said that the state government has introduced the ‘Telangana Rising 2047’ vision in line with the Centre’s ‘Develop India 2047’ goal. Reddy said that the Telangana government aims to make the state a three trillion US dollar economy by 2047. During the ceremony, Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth about Rs 9,400 crore in Telangana through digital medium at HICC in Hyderabad.
On this occasion, Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and several other leaders were present at the Hyderabad International Conference Center (HICC). Modi laid the foundation stone of several projects, including four-laning of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar on the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor.
He also inaugurated various sections of the Railways’ Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking project, Greenfield POL (Petroleum, Oil, Lubricants) Terminal in Hyderabad, Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass and PM Mitra Park (Kakatiya Mega Textile Park) in Warangal. Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, developed at an estimated cost of about Rs 1,700 crore, is India’s first fully functional PM Mitra Park.
