Bhopal. Amidst the agitation of guest scholars, a big statement of former Chief Minister and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has come to light. He said that “the announcement of one Chief Minister should be fulfilled by the other Chief Minister.” His statement is being linked to the long pending demands of the guest scholars and earlier government announcements. This statement of Shivraj has come at a time when guest scholars from across the state are continuously agitating for their demands and demanding the government to fulfill the promises made earlier.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that governments can change, but the responsibility of promises and announcements made to the public does not end. He said that any announcement made by any Chief Minister is a commitment of the government and it should be fulfilled by the next government or Chief Minister also. According to him, this maintains public confidence and also maintains the continuity of governance.
Guest scholars say that for years they have been struggling for regularization, service security and other demands. They allege that many announcements were made in the past, but they were not fully implemented. That is why they are continuously demanding the government to fulfill its promises.
