Prayagraj, 31 August 2026: A massive explosion took place near the border of Pipri and Mufti areas on Kaushambi and Prayagraj border in Uttar Pradesh. It is feared that 7 people may have died in this massive blast that took place at around 11 am in the fireworks godown run by a manager named Aditya, while many people have been seriously injured. The explosion was so powerful that the sound of the blast could be heard up to an area of 2 kilometers. Due to the blast, many nearby houses have been damaged and some houses have been razed to the ground. After the incident, there was huge chaos in the entire area.

As soon as the incident was known, senior officials including DM, SP of both Kaushambi and Prayagraj districts and convoys of several police stations rushed to the spot. Fire brigade vehicles are working to put out the fire. There are difficulties in relief operations due to continuous bursting of firecrackers at the blast site, however the operations are going on in full swing. Villagers are also helping in removing the garbage.

According to the rules, only 10 kg of liquor is allowed in the license, but this big explosion shows that a huge quantity of illegal liquor, amounting to quintals, was stored in the godown. Serious questions have now been raised about the safety and permission of such a fireworks warehouse operating so close to the population. The system has conducted an in-depth investigation of the entire matter.
