Uttarakhand Adi Rangotsav became a celebration of tribal culture, tradition and pride, colors of cultural diversity scattered in Khatima

The three-day Uttarakhand Aadi Rangotsav organized in Khatima was grandly inaugurated. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami formally inaugurated the Rangotsav by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, tribal artists from different states of the country presented a rich glimpse of tribal heritage through their traditional costumes, folk dance, folk music and cultural presentations.

During the program, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed and honored Union Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram by presenting a sapling and the statue of Maharana Pratap. The Chief Minister also honored the actors of the film 'Hanuman Ansh' by presenting them a plant, Lord Hanuman's mace and a picture of Neem Karauli Baba while wishing them on the stage.

During Aadi Rangotsav, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami himself was seen in traditional cultural colors. He danced with the artists and encouraged them and expressed his connection and respect towards the tribal culture by playing the drum. This spontaneous style of the Chief Minister created special enthusiasm among the people and artists present in the program.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it is a proud moment for him to be present among the people on the occasion of the inauguration of Uttarakhand Aadi Rangotsav. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Union Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Jual Oram for his cooperation in the development of residential Eklavya schools and announcement of Rs 10 crore for the modernization and expansion of Eklavya residential school located in Khatima. He also requested Union Ministers Shri Kiren Rijiju and Shri Jual Oram to establish a residential Eklavya Vidyalaya in Pithoragarh area.

Important work towards empowerment

The Chief Minister said that Jual Oram has been working for the interests and welfare of the tribal society for a long time. Under his leadership, important work has been done in the direction of education, development and social empowerment in the tribal areas of the country. He said that during the road show today, he got to see many colors of diverse cultures and traditions in Khatima. Khatima is a mini India in itself, where the culture and traditions of different communities are visible together.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working towards making the tribal society strong and self-reliant by connecting them with education, health, employment and basic facilities. The government's effort is to preserve the cultural identity and traditions of the tribal communities and connect them with the mainstream of development.

housing for tribal families

The Chief Minister said that the state government has made the income limit practical in the Atal Awas Yojana and has also increased the cost of house construction, so that more and more eligible families can get its benefit. Assistance worth more than Rs 3 crore has been provided under this scheme in Udham Singh Nagar district.

He said that a large number of tribal families are also benefiting under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural. Under this scheme, about 28 percent of the applications received for housing this year are from families of tribal society. The Chief Minister said that under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, 824 houses have been constructed in the first phase and 101 houses in the second phase.

Tribal society in the field of education

The Chief Minister said that even in the field of education, the state government is continuously working for the development of the tribal society. Funds worth crores of rupees have been made available for the development of ashram system schools, hostels and ITI institutes.

He said that a 100-bed boys hostel is being constructed in Bajpur. The construction work of the school is being done at a cost of more than Rs 16 crore, while an amount of Rs 4 crore has also been sanctioned for the girls' hostel. Along with this, work of beautification and modernization of Tharu Government Inter College is also being done.

Mohan Singh Rana who conquered Everest

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated and congratulated BSF jawan Shri Mohan Singh Rana, resident of Anjaniya village of Khatima and Ms. Teela Sen, daughter of Charu's son, for conquering Mount Everest. He said that both of them have enhanced the prestige of not only the Tharu community but of entire Uttarakhand with their achievements. His achievements are a source of inspiration for the youth.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is working to provide employment and training to the tribal society through the National Rural Livelihood Mission. Tribal communities are being economically empowered by connecting the products produced by them to the market and promoting their marketing, as well as by providing them revolving funds and investment assistance. He said that under the Chief Minister Frontier Area Development Programme, various schemes worth more than Rs 10 crore have been implemented from 2020 to 2025.
