Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra: 31 lakh pilgrims reached till now, 161 devotees died so far

Dehradun. Since the Char Dham Yatra started in Uttarakhand in April, more than 31 lakh pilgrims have come to the state, while 161 devotees have died during this period. Officials gave this information on Sunday. According to the new report of the State Emergency Operation Centre, Kedarnath Dham has received the highest number of 11,05,676 pilgrims since the doors opened on April 22. After this, 9,08,619 pilgrims have come to Badrinath Dham since April 23.

5,28,406 pilgrims reached Gangotri temple

5,28,406 pilgrims have visited Gangotri temple, 5,07,421 pilgrims to Yamunatri temple and 55,411 pilgrims to Sri Hemkund Sahib. According to reports, 4,697 pilgrims arrived on the Gaumukh route. Their number was included in the Gangotri pilgrims. On Saturday, 61,262 pilgrims reached the pilgrimage sites in 5,511 vehicles. Officials said 2,89,918 vehicles used the yatra routes since the beginning of the pilgrimage this year.

161 pilgrims have died so far

161 pilgrims have died in the state since April 19. According to official data, 152 of these people died due to health problems and poor health, while eight pilgrims died due to other causes and one died due to natural causes. During the pilgrimage, the highest number of 78 pilgrims died in Yamunotri. After this, 47 people died in Kedarnath, 20 in Badrinath and 16 in Gangotri.

What arrangements did the Dhami government make regarding health?

47 permanent dedicated hospitals and 25 temporary medical hospitals have been built by the Uttarakhand government for the Chardham Yatra. The Health Department has also set up 57 screening centers at different places which are in Dehradun, Haridwar, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Uttarkashi. A 17 bed hospital has been built in Kedarnath and a 45 bed hospital has been built in Badrinath Dham. 25 specialist doctors, 178 medical officers, 414 paramedical staff have been posted. Apart from this, physician, orthopedic, anesthesiologist and gynecologist have also been deployed.
