Vaibhav Suryavanshi Red Ball: After strong performances in the IPL and the Zimbabwe tour, young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi is now preparing himself for the challenge of red-ball cricket. With an eye on the Duleep Trophy, which begins on August 23, Vaibhav is currently working hard on the longer format of the game at the Rajasthan Royals’ High Performance Centre in Talegaon, near Nagpur.
Under the supervision of Rajasthan Royals assistant coach Vikram Rathour, Vaibhav has been training hard with fast bowlers Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma, Shubham Dubey, Ravi Singh, and Sushant Mishra. His main focus during the training sessions is on refining his technique and batting composure to suit the demands of red-ball cricket.
Vaibhav wants to change his image as a white-ball specialist
Vaibhav, who had a stellar batting performance in the last IPL season, is often considered a specialist in white-ball cricket. However, the young batsman doesn’t limit himself to limited-overs cricket. He believes he has the potential to be effective in the longer format as well.
With this in mind, Vaibhav has begun focusing exclusively on red-ball cricket ahead of the upcoming domestic season. The Duleep Trophy will be an important platform for him to prove his mettle in this format.
Vaibhav appointed vice-captain of East Zone
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named the vice-captain of the East Zone for the upcoming Duleep Trophy. Fast bowler Tushar Deshpande will represent the West Zone team. The prestigious inter-zonal multi-day tournament begins on August 23 in Bengaluru.
This tournament is also important for Vaibhav because consistent performance in red-ball cricket will give him a chance to strengthen his claim at the domestic level.

Rajasthan Royals assistant coach Vikram Rathour said the time before the season starts is crucial for players. This is the time when they can work on every aspect of their game and prepare themselves for the challenges of the next level.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals Head of Operations Romi Bhinder said, “The High Performance Center aims to provide world-class facilities to players year-round. This helps in the all-round development of players and prepares them to perform better not only in the IPL but in all formats of cricket.”
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s ongoing practice in Talegaon is part of this extensive preparation, where the young batsman is trying to replicate his limited overs success in the longer format as well.
