Varun Chakravarthy ruled out on Ireland T20I series due to injury
Veteran spinner Varun Chakraborty is set to miss the two-match T20I series against Ireland, which is set to begin on 26th June. The 34-year-old sustained an injury during the IPL 2026 season while playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders. His last game was against the Delhi Capitals, where he picked one wicket and also scored five runs with the bat.
BCCI were quick to put out a statement, which read “Chakravarthy is in the final stages of his rehab at the BCCI COE following his left foot injury sustained in the TATA IPL 2026. He is ruled out of the T20I series against Ireland.” Chennai based spinner was also part of the Indian side that won the T20 World Cup earlier this year.
