Yamunanagar. A major accident has come to light during an army exercise at Hathnikund Barrage in Yamunanagar, Haryana. The boat of five army personnel, who were practicing near Diversion Gate No. 8 of WJC Canal, suddenly got washed away in the strong current. All these soldiers had jumped into the barrage from a Chinook helicopter and were undergoing training. Now the search operation is going on continuously and the commandos of the special forces are being searched within the radius of 20-35 km.

The boat of five army personnel (5 commandos) who were practicing at Hathnikund Barrage in Yamunanagar, Haryana, suddenly got washed away in the strong current. All these soldiers had jumped into the barrage from a Chinook helicopter and were undergoing training.

According to Pratapnagar police station in-charge, there was information about one or two soldiers missing, but now it has come to light that there are two soldiers. After the incident, Army and SDRF teams reached the spot and a large-scale search operation was started.
Since Tuesday evening, SDRF teams from Uttar Pradesh and Yamunanagar are also searching for the missing soldier. Army helicopters were also seen continuously monitoring the barrage area. It is being told that the soldiers had reached Hathnikund for practice from Nahan Training Center in Himachal Pradesh and the practice was being done after the permission of the Irrigation Department.
According to the information, four soldiers were practicing in a boat near the diversion gate number-8 of WJC Canal. Meanwhile, the boat developed a technical fault and within no time the boat started floating in the strong current. After the accident, the soldiers jumped into the water to save their lives. One jawan somehow secured himself by climbing the gate, while two jawans managed to get out by swimming about 100 meters. But the fourth soldier went missing in the strong current. All the soldiers were wearing life jackets, yet the strong current made the situation very serious. As soon as information about the accident was received, there was panic in the army and administration. A team of about 100 army personnel got involved in the search operation to find the missing soldier.
