Village head Rajbali died in a head-on collision between two bikes near Ranipur Mohan village of Ambedkar Nagar. His brother and the other bike driver were seriously injured in the accident, who have been admitted to the district hospital.
Ambedkarnagar: A village head lost his life in a tragic road accident in Ambedkarnagar on Saturday evening. Village head Rajbali suffered serious injuries on the spot in a sharp collision between two bikes near Ranipur Mohan village, while his brother and the other bike driver were injured. After the incident, when the ambulance arrived late, the local people took the injured to the hospital in a private vehicle.
A painful road accident occurred while returning to the village.
Rajbali, village head of Gram Panchayat Ranipur Mohan of Katehari development block, had gone to Katehari market on bike with his brother Ramman on Saturday afternoon. At around 7:30 in the evening, both were returning home via Shravankshetra-Pratapipur road.
It was told that as soon as they reached near the village, they had a strong collision with another bike coming from the front at high speed. The collision was so strong that the people riding on both the bikes were thrown away on the road and both the vehicles were badly damaged.
Village head dies before reaching hospital
Even after receiving information about the accident, the ambulance did not reach the spot for about an hour. After this, the local people took the injured to the district hospital in a private vehicle.
Doctors declared village head Rajbali dead in the hospital. The condition of his brother Ramman and the other bike driver Manoj Nishad is said to be critical. Both are undergoing treatment in the district hospital.
There is an atmosphere of mourning in the village after the accident
A wave of mourning has spread in Ranipur Mohan village due to the sudden death of the village head. Local people have expressed their displeasure over the high speed on the road and lack of timely ambulance service.
The police have started investigating the matter after getting information about the incident. The treatment of injured people is also being monitored.
