VinFast entered the Indian market as an electric car manufacturer last year. In just a year, it has launched three EVs and is slowly expanding its dealership network across different parts of the country. The company has also started its electric vehicle taxi and rental business in India. Now, VinFast is planning to expand its business in India by entering the electric two-wheeler segment. The company has recently released a social media post inviting dealers to join it as business partners.
The social media post has been shared on VinFast’s Instagram and other social media pages online. VinFast had already confirmed that it would not be limiting itself to the four-wheeler segment in India. The company had made its intentions clear about entering the electric scooter or two-wheeler segment soon.
In the latest social media post that we came across, VinFast is inviting interested parties to join its team as partners. The company has shared a QR code, and interested individuals or businesses can register their interest using it. The post also mentions that the last date to express interest or apply for the dealership opportunity is September 15, 2026.
This is the second time VinFast has come forward with an invitation for dealerships in India. Earlier, the company had invited applications from dealers, and the last date for submitting applications in the first phase was July 15. It looks like VinFast has extended the timeline for dealership applications. Once you scan the QR code, you would redirected to another page where you have to actually fill important details including the personla and the busiess. It would also ask you about your experience in this sector before submitting the form. With the dealership applications now published online, it looks like VinFast is aiming to enter this segment later this year or in early 2027.
VinFast is a Vietnamese multinational automotive manufacturer established in 2017. It is a subsidiary of Vingroup, one of the largest private conglomerates in Vietnam. VinFast entered the Indian market in 2025 and has also set up a manufacturing facility here. The brand’s manufacturing facility is located in Thoothukudi (Tuticorin), Tamil Nadu.
The company set up the facility in Tamil Nadu’s Tuticorin due to its strategic seaport access. This would help VinFast not only manufacture products for India but also ship them to international markets in South Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Reports that have surfaced online suggest that VinFast has plans to launch not one but three electric scooters in the Indian market. While we have not received any confirmation about the models, the silhouette seen on the poster shared on social media looks similar to the Feliz electric scooter from the brand. Apart from that, VinFast has also filed a design patent for the updated Viper scooter. VinFast might also launch its entry-level Evo scooter in the market.
The VinFast Evo gets a basic design and is offered with 12-inch wheels, a 2.4 kWh battery pack and an electric motor mounted on the hub. The scooter weighs around 110 kg and, when launched, will compete with the likes of the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta in the segment. The Evo costs around 22,800,000 VND, which translates to approximately Rs 81,204 in India.
Next is the Feliz, which gets a design similar to what we see in Thailand and many other Southeast Asian markets. It gets tall 14-inch wheels, a 3 kWh battery pack and is expected to offer a claimed riding range of around 150 km. The price of the Feliz scooter in India would be around Rs 95,000 when converted.
The third electric scooter is the Viper. It is the most expensive scooter among the three. It features the same large-wheel, Asian-style scooter design but with sportier styling elements, including a wide apron and a sleek LED headlamp setup.
The scooter sold in the Indonesian market is offered with two battery-pack options. There is a 3 kWh battery pack consisting of two 1.5 kWh units, and a smaller version with a single 1.5 kWh battery pack. The smaller battery offers a riding range of 82 km, while the larger 3 kWh version delivers a range of 145 km. The scooter can reach speeds of 70–90 km/h.
