New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted the growing importance of BRICS as a platform for global cooperation, saying the grouping has expanded because member nations' voices are heard, their experiences are respected and solutions are created together.
Addressing the second day of the BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, PM Modi said India's chairship focused on four key themes of resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability.

Modi's Global South Push At BRICS Summit
PM Modi said India has worked to strengthen friendship, participation and cooperation among BRICS members. He emphasized that the grouping's initiatives should not remain limited to governments but should also involve entrepreneurs, farmers, researchers, women and young people.
He said BRICS cooperation should create solutions that are accessible to developing nations and address the needs of the Global South.
Xi Jinping And Putin Share Stage With Modi
The presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin made the Delhi summit a major diplomatic event. Leaders of the expanded BRICS grouping gathered to discuss issues including global governance, economic cooperation, technology, climate change and sustainable development.
BRICS currently includes 11 full members Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

During his address, PM Modi said the strength of BRICS lies in its diversity and cooperation. He noted that countries with different backgrounds and challenges can work together to build solutions for humanity.
“Their voices are heard, their experiences are respected, and solutions are created not just for them, but together with them,” Modi said while describing the confidence of Global South countries in BRICS.
Focus On Future Of Global Order
The summit is taking place amid discussions over reforms in international institutions, trade cooperation, digital transformation and greater representation for developing economies.
With India hosting the summit, New Delhi is seeking to position BRICS as a stronger voice for emerging nations and a key platform shaping the future global order.
