Voter list revision in Uttarakhand in final stage, digitization of 99% forms completed, names can be deleted
Uttarakhand News: The Special Intensive Review (SIR) drive in Uttarakhand has now reached its final stage. According to the Election Department, till now about 99 percent digitization of counting forms has been completed in the state. Along with this, an appeal has been made to the political parties to appoint 100% Booth Level Agents (BLAs) at all the polling stations, so that the voter list can be made more transparent and error-free.
In a press conference held at the media center located at the Secretariat, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that a special intensive revision campaign is being conducted considering July 1, 2026 as the base date. Under this, distribution and digitization of calculation forms was done from June 8 to July 7.
Available data of total voters
He said that there are a total of 79,60,762 registered voters in the state. Out of these, counting forms of 71,16,650 voters have been received and digitized. At the same time, the available data and related forms of a total of 79,57,670 voters have also been included in the digital records.
Names can be removed from the voter list
According to the Election Department, there are currently 8,41,020 voters whose counting forms have not been received. All these cases will be investigated as per rules. If the required documents or information are not available during the prescribed process, the names of such voters may be removed from the voter list.
Final voter list on 15th September
In the next phase of the campaign, the process of rescheduling new polling stations will begin from July 7. After this, the draft voter list will be published on July 14, while the final voter list will be released on September 15 after disposal of all claims and objections.
23,102 booth level agents appointed
The Election Department also gave information regarding the appointment of BLA. So far, various political parties have appointed a total of 23,102 booth level agents against 11,733 polling stations in the state. These include 11,504 BLAs of Bharatiya Janata Party, 11,105 of Congress, 378 of Marxist Communist Party (CPI-M) and 115 of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Aam Aadmi Party has not appointed BLA at any polling station so far.
The Election Department has appealed to all political parties to appoint BLAs at the remaining booths as soon as possible, so that the voter list can be made more accurate and transparent.
Cases will be reviewed as per rules
According to the department’s data, the highest number of voters whose counting forms have not yet been returned are from Dehradun district. There are 1,90,815 forms pending here, which is more than 13 percent of the total voters in the district. Apart from this, the counting forms of 1,82,162 voters in Udham Singh Nagar, 1,31,047 in Haridwar and 72,083 in Nainital have not been submitted yet. These cases will also be reviewed as per rules.
