The world of Indian folklore took a supernatural turn as the trailer of Indian actors Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s Vva was unveiled on Wednesday.
Directed by Deepak Mishra, the film followed a fictional world shaped by old beliefs, mysterious forces and supernatural events. The trailer gave a closer look at the story after the teaser had earlier introduced its setting.
The footage showed Sidharth and Tamannaah in a forest where unusual events began to unfold. Their characters became connected to a world governed by beliefs and rules that existed long before they entered it.
The trailer also featured action, romance and humour along with the supernatural elements. The story moved around the forest and the dangers faced by the people living within its mysterious world.
Sidharth and Tamannaah appeared together on screen for the first time in the film. Their characters’ relationship also formed part of the story as they dealt with the strange events around them.
The film was based on Indian folklore and was planned as part of a larger fictional universe. The makers had also introduced The Legend of Vvaan comic book as another part of the project.
Vva brought together TVF's Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra and producer Ektaa R Kapoor. Arunabh Kumar had written the film, while Mishra had directed it.
The film was presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production.
The makers had scheduled Vva for a theatrical release on September 25.
