Was Pak military leadership scared of India’s action? Imran Khan’s sister made a sensational claim regarding ‘Operation Sindoor’
New Delhi: Once again a new discussion has started in Pakistan’s politics regarding India’s Operation Sindoor. Nooreen Niazi, sister of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, has made such a claim, which has raised serious questions on the military and political leadership there. He says that during the Indian action, there was immense pressure on the Pakistan Army and the situation became so bad that the leadership had to look for help and compromise at the international level.
In an interview, Noorin Niazi said that Pakistan’s army was not successful in countering India’s continuous military action during Operation Sindoor. According to him, after the Indian attacks, Pakistan tried to control the situation, but the military strategy could not give the expected results. He claimed that as the situation worsened, an atmosphere of anxiety was created at the military headquarters in Rawalpindi. According to Niazi, the campaign which was started on a large scale by Pakistan gradually started weakening and after this the efforts for intervention at the international level intensified.
Also claimed contact with international forces
Noorin Niazi also alleged that amid increasing pressure, Pakistan’s leadership sought help from global powers in reducing tensions with India. According to him, at that time the then US President Donald Trump also agreed to talks with certain conditions. However, these claims have not been confirmed by any independent agency or official source. There has been no official response in this regard from the Pakistan government and army either.
Why did India reduce the pace of attacks?
Niazi said in his statement that India has strong relations with Israel and during this time some diplomatic conditions were also placed before Pakistan. He claimed that due to military pressure, Pakistan’s leadership was ready to consider some difficult decisions. He also said that in view of the changing circumstances and regional balance of South Asia, India later reduced the intensity of its military action. However, there is no official document or evidence publicly available to support these claims.
Accused of telling the story of ‘victory’
Noorin Niazi also targeted Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He alleged that after the conflict ended, both the leaders presented it as a victory for Pakistan, whereas the actual situation was different. According to him, the government and military leadership are doing such propaganda to strengthen their image among the public. He also said that later due to changing regional developments this issue was left behind.
Such statements have come out before also
This is not the first time that a prominent political face of Pakistan has made such claims regarding Operation Sindoor. Even before this, the pressure created during military action has been mentioned by some leaders and analysts of Pakistan. However, these statements could not be independently confirmed.
What was Operation Sindoor?
India had launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Under this campaign, the Indian Air Force targeted many suspected terrorist hideouts present in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). After this, an attempt was made to retaliate from Pakistan’s side, but the Indian security system countered it. During the increased tension between the two countries, many military activities were seen on the border. India had described Operation Sindoor as part of its strict policy against terrorism.
