An adorable moment captured the fans’ attention involving Neymar during the Santos vs Mirassol Serie A clash at the Estádio Urbano Caldeira Stadium. In a video going viral on social media, a young female Santos fan was seen crying her eyes out standing beside the Brazilian forward during the anthem and hugged him while weeping.

With the 34-year-old also noting how emotional the fan grew, he also returned the hug. She was initially standing beside the goalkeeper, who asked her to move forward to be with Neymar.

Santos drew level with Mirassol in Serie A Game
Meanwhile, the game between Santos and Mirassol resulted in a draw, with both sides netting one goal apiece. Carlos Eduardo had opened the scoring in the 36th minute for the Mirassol, while Alvaro Barreal levelled the scores in the 68th minute.
Despite going without a goal in the match against Mirassol, Neymar has had a strong Serie A season, netting six goals for Santos FC in 11 appearances with four assists along with a couple of penalties. Nevertheless, the 34-year-old will no longer be seen in national colours, having announced that the FIFA World Cup 2026 was his final appearance for Brazil.
He made the below statement following the Santos’ 4-2 triumph over Venezuela’s Universidad Central in Copa Sudamericana match last month. The star footballer stated, as quoted by ESPN:
“I think my time with the national team has already passed. I made history there, and I’m very happy about it. I experienced a lot there, gave my blood and my life, and always fought and battled for the yellow jersey. But I don’t think I want anymore.”
Neymar had scored a late goal against Norway in the Round of 16 game but still couldn’t prevent a 2-1 loss, resulting in Brazil’s earliest exit from the World Cup since the 1990 edition. He grew hugely emotional following the defeat. Neymar remains contracted with Santos till 2026.
