Weather Alert: Alert of heavy rain and storm in 21 states

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has once again issued an alert regarding rain and strong storm in many parts of the country. According to the department, there is a possibility of heavy rain, thunder and storm in 21 states including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar on June 30.

Weather Update: As monsoon activities intensify in India, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a major alert for the next 12 hours. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain, strong thunderstorm, lightning and hailstorm in some areas in 21 states of the country on June 30. In many areas, the wind speed can reach 70 to 90 kilometers per hour, due to which life is likely to be affected. The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel and follow official weather advisories.

Alert issued in which states?

According to IMD, the weather will change rapidly in many parts of North, East, Central and South India. The states for which warnings of heavy rain and thunderstorm have been issued include Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Ladakh, West Bengal, Odisha, Sikkim, Maharashtra, Tripura, Nagaland, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. There is also a threat of thunder and lightning in many areas of Eastern India.

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the active Western Disturbance in the middle troposphere and the trough line extending from north-eastern Madhya Pradesh to Telangana at lower levels, widespread rainfall has occurred. Due to the impact of these weather systems, there is a possibility of rain with strong winds in many states.

Danger of heavy rain in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

There is a possibility of strong thunderstorm with rain in the national capital Delhi and surrounding areas on June 30. According to the Meteorological Department, the wind speed can reach 50 to 60 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 31 degrees Celsius.
Alert of heavy rain and storm has been issued in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of inclement weather especially in many parts of western and eastern Uttar Pradesh. The maximum temperature in Lucknow is expected to be around 34 degrees Celsius.

At the same time, in many districts of Bihar including Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, heavy rains can be accompanied by strong winds at a speed of 65 to 70 kilometers per hour. The Meteorological Department has also expressed the possibility of waterlogging and lightning in low-lying areas.

Special vigilance in Jharkhand and hill states

Wind speed can reach 80 to 90 kilometers per hour with heavy rain in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and other districts of Jharkhand. This may increase the risk of trees falling and power supply being affected. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in many areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir for the next two days. There is also a risk of landslides, road blockage and sudden rise in water level in mountainous areas.

Yellow alert of strong winds with moderate to heavy rain has been issued in Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur and other districts of Rajasthan. There is a possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorm in Bhopal, Vidisha, Balaghat, Seoni and surrounding areas of Madhya Pradesh.
