Shivraj Singh Chouhan to visit flood affected areas of Arunachal on July 1; Will hold a meeting in Guwahati on 30th June
Shivraj Singh Chouhan Arunachal Pradesh Visit: On the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will go on a two-day North-East tour. Leaving from Delhi on June 30, Chouhan will hold a high-level meeting in Assam’s capital Guwahati on the same day and then visit the flood-affected areas of Arunachal Pradesh on July 1 to take direct stock of the situation on the ground.
Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government is personally monitoring the flood affected areas and wants to take decisions on the field to speed up relief and rehabilitation. In this series, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, taking seriously the flood situation in North-East Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, has decided to immediately send Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan for ground review.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan will leave for Assam on June 30
As per the schedule, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will leave from Delhi on June 30 and will reach Assam’s capital Guwahati on the same day and hold a high-level meeting with senior officials of the state government. In this meeting, the impact of floods on crops, villages and infrastructure in Assam and surrounding areas, the pace of ongoing relief operations and further needs will be discussed in detail.
Flood affected areas will be visited on 1st July
After reviewing Assam, on July 1, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit the flood-affected areas of Arunachal Pradesh, where he will closely observe the situation of villages, farms and relief camps affected by the floods through aerial and ground surveys. Union Minister Shivraj Singh will interact directly with flood-affected farmers, local residents, women’s groups and youth to understand how effective the assistance provided so far has been and what additional steps are needed immediately.

Will also hold a meeting with Arunachal Pradesh government ministers
On the same day, he will also hold meetings with ministers, senior officials and other public representatives of the Arunachal Pradesh government to discuss assessment of crop losses, compensation and crop insurance payments to farmers, repair of flood-damaged roads, bridges and embankments, as well as strategies to rebuild rural infrastructure.
