Lucknow. Monsoon has once again become active in Uttar Pradesh. According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in many parts of the state on August 20. The rains are expected to intensify due to the influence of the weather system formed around Jharkhand and south-eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Chances of heavy rain in western UP also
Heavy to very heavy rain may occur in many surrounding areas of western Uttar Pradesh including Meerut, Saharanpur, Aligarh and Bulandshahr on August 20. Along with rain, conditions like strong winds and waterlogging can also be seen at some places.
Clouds will rain in eastern UP also
There is a possibility of widespread rain in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh including Azamgarh, Varanasi and Sonbhadra. Earlier too, heavy rains have been recorded in some areas of this region. About 13 cm of rain was recorded in Pratapgarh during the last 24 hours.
People will also have to be careful
During heavy rains, there may be a situation of waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic disruption. In such a situation, people are advised to keep an eye on weather updates and pass through waterlogged roads only when necessary. There is a possibility of heavy rain in many parts of the state on August 20, hence common people need to remain alert.
