Big decision of Bengal government: 3 thousand rupees per month to women, free travel in government buses too, financial assistance to madrassas stopped

Kolkata. The new government of West Bengal under the leadership of Shubhendu Adhikari has given a big gift to women in its second cabinet meeting. Annapurna Bhandar Scheme was approved in the meeting, under which women of the state will be given financial assistance of Rs 3,000 every month. This scheme will be implemented from June 1. Along with this, the state government has also announced the facility of free travel in government buses for women. That means from June women will be able to travel in government buses without paying fare.

Formation of seventh pay commission also approved

The formation of the Seventh Pay Commission for government employees was also approved in the cabinet meeting. However, no decision could be taken in this meeting regarding the pending DA of the employees. Minister Agnimitra Pal informed that women whose names are already registered in Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana will not have to apply again for Annapurna Bhandar Yojana.

Decision to stop financial aid to madrassas

The government has also decided in the meeting to stop the financial assistance given to madrassas. Under this, the monthly allowance given to Imam and Moazim will also be stopped. Apart from this, it has been said to re-review the OBC reservation list made after 2011. The government has now also decided to hold regular cabinet meetings every 15 days.
