What did India get from PM Modi’s visit to Netherlands? Foreign Ministry counted 17 major achievements
New Delhi: India and Netherlands have given a new historic height to their bilateral relations. At the conclusion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day official visit to the Netherlands, both the countries took a big decision to convert their mutual relations into a ‘strategic partnership’. During this visit, a high-level meeting was held between PM Modi and Netherlands Prime Minister Rob Jetton, in which 17 important agreements were signed to increase cooperation in key sectors like defence, semiconductors and critical minerals.
Copper utensils of Chola period will return home
The biggest result of the Prime Minister’s visit is the historical copper utensils of the Chola dynasty. These utensils and artefacts have returned home. Netherlands will return these ancient things to India. For this, an agreement has been signed between ‘Lyon University Library’ and ASI for research on Chola history and cultural conservation.
Launch of ‘Strategic Partnership Roadmap 2026-2030’
After this dialogue between the two countries, ‘Strategic Partnership Roadmap 2026-2030’ was released. This roadmap will bring both the countries very close to each other on the front of trade, investment, defense and security in the coming years. After this conversation, special attention will be given to semiconductor, AI, space technology, quantum computing and maritime security between the two countries. Both the countries have together prepared the ‘Green Hydrogen Roadmap’ and are going to form a joint group on energy. After the formation of this joint group, the path of clean energy will open for India in the European markets.
Promote education, agriculture and talent mobility
This tour is going to prove to be very beneficial for Indian youth, students and professionals also. ‘Mobility and migration cooperation’ has been agreed to simplify the rules for internships, higher education and long-term work visas in the Netherlands. An ‘Indo-Dutch Dairy Training Centre’ will be set up in Bengaluru to modernize the agriculture sector and a ‘Center of Excellence’ for modern flower cultivation in West Tripura, which will increase both the income and productivity of Indian farmers. At the same time, strengthening international partnership at the level of education, academic cooperation between the famous Nalanda University and the University of Groningen of the Netherlands has also been given the green signal.
