“Whatever operation I start, I complete” – Eknath Shinde roared after defeating 6 MPs.
Mumbai: Once again such an earthquake has occurred in the politics of Maharashtra which has directly disturbed the sleep of Matoshree. Another huge and historic split is going to take place in the Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena (UBT). According to very confirmed reports coming from political circles, all the 6 rebel Lok Sabha MPs of Shiv Sena (UBT) are going to formally join the real Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today at exactly 3 pm on Monday.
As soon as these 6 MPs change sides, the strength of Shinde group will increase manifold in the Parliament. The biggest thing is that with the arrival of these 6 MPs, the rebel group will also complete the magical figure of two-thirds required to avoid disqualification under the Anti-Defection Law. ‘Operation Tiger’, about which there was a lot of speculation in Maharashtra for a long time, is finally going to be proved true on the ground today.
Uddhav Thackeray called emergency meeting of MLAs in ‘Shivalay’
Amidst this strong rebellion and the stir created by ‘Operation Tiger’, Uddhav Thackeray has called a very important and emergency meeting of all the party MLAs and Legislative Council Members (MLCs) today at 2:30 pm on Monday afternoon at his party office ‘Shivalay’ at Nariman Point. The thing to note is that this meeting is taking place on the very first day of the monsoon session of the Maharashtra Assembly. Political experts are seeing this as a last and desperate attempt by Uddhav Thackeray to keep his remaining clan together and save the MLAs from disintegration.
It is believed that Uddhav Thackeray will address the MLAs in this meeting in a very emotional and aggressive manner and will reveal the next strategy of the party after this mega-revolt of the MPs. This turmoil within Shiv Sena (UBT) increased further when on Sunday itself, two rebel MPs – Nagesh Patil Ashtikar and Omprakash Raje Nimbalkar openly announced in front of the media that they would join Shinde faction.
These 6 stalwarts were missing from Delhi meeting, got angry with sharp comments
Let us tell you that the script of this great rebellion had been written long ago. In the high-profile meeting of Shiv Sena (UBT) parliamentary party held in Delhi on June 17, 6 out of 9 Lok Sabha MPs of the party were missing. The names of these 6 rebel MPs who left the party are Sanjay Deshmukh, Sanjay Jadhav, Sanjay Dina Patil, Bhausaheb Wakchore, Nagesh Patil-Ashtikar and Omprakash Raje Nimbalkar. Uddhav has a total of 9 MPs in the Lok Sabha and to legally save its membership, the rebel group needed the support of at least 6 MPs, which they have achieved.
Explaining his compulsion to leave his old party, Hingoli MP Nagesh Patil Ashtikar vented his anger by releasing a video on social media. He said, “I and some other MPs had not taken any major decision till June 18 and we had not gone anywhere. But, from last Thursday, some such harsh words and comments were made against us from within the party, due to which we felt that now there is no point in remaining in the Uddhav group.” Ashtikar also made it clear that he is not personally angry with Uddhav Thackeray or Sanjay Raut, but the rhetoric that was being made about the rebels for the last few days has hurt his self-esteem. He said smilingly that he has not changed his ideology, he has “just moved from one Shiv Sena to another.”
The requests of Uddhav’s messengers also went in vain, Omraj Nimbalkar did not melt.
Similarly, Dharashiv’s senior Lok Sabha MP Omprakash Raje Nimbalkar also announced his final decision to join Shinde’s Shiv Sena after holding a marathon meeting with supporters and workers in his parliamentary constituency. This decision of Nimbalkar is a big blow to the Uddhav camp, because Matoshree had tried her best to stop him. Party MLAs Kailash Patil and Varun Sardesai had reached Nimbalkar’s house in Pune early on Sunday morning with a special message from Uddhav Thackeray.
After the meeting, MLA Kailash Patil had told the media, “We have spoken at length to Omraje Nibalkar and have conveyed Uddhav Saheb’s message to him. We are confident that Omraje will remain with us in this hour of crisis.” But after a few hours, Nimbalkar’s decision to join Shinde’s faction completely dashed the hopes of these messengers of Uddhav.
Big statement of CM and Deputy CM – “Our operation was completely successful”
Amidst this tremendous political upheaval going on in Mumbai, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, smilingly in a press conference, put his stamp on the success of ‘Operation Tiger’. CM Fadnavis quipped, “Our operation has been a complete success and now the health of our party is very good. No one needs to panic. Those who need to do introspection (searching) at this time should do so sitting comfortably.”
On the other hand, Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde also confirmed the success of this entire operation with a raised chest. Shinde, in his old style, warned his opponents and said, “The people of Maharashtra know very well that whenever I start a political operation, I take my breath only after taking it to the end. We have proved this earlier also and have shown it once again today.”
